Our team works tirelessly each day to contribute their part to help the planet and her inhabitants.
About
Here at The Blue Ridge Center of Wildlife Rehabilitation, we are driven by a single goal; to give animals the care they need.
Our journey began in 2021 out of a simple, powerful desire to do more for our local wildlife. Originally located in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, we transformed an old farm into a safe haven for animals of all kinds. Since then, we have relocated to Ronda, NC. While our current property is a bit smaller, our standard of care remains entirely unchanged.
We are an organization in motion. Our founder is currently furthering her education at North Carolina State University, gaining advanced knowledge and skills to do even more for the creatures that rely on us. Our long-term vision is to open a larger, fully-equipped center that will allow us to expand our capacity and help more animals than ever before. Until that time comes, we hope you bare with us, as we can be short staffed at times.
We strive to build a safe, stress-free environment for every animal that passes through our doors. Every patient is given dedicated, proper care tailored to their species. While our primary goal is always successful rehabilitation and a proud release back into their natural habitats, we ensure that every animal is treated with dignity and compassion during their time with us.
Who We Are
Furthering our cause is the most important goal of our organization. We seek to help wild animals and rescued livestock. Our success isn’t measured in terms of wealth or profit margin, but the animals we save.
Wildlife Rehabilitation
Wildlife rehabilitation is the treatment and care of sick, injured, or orphaned wild animals. Our end goal is releasing healed animals back into their natural habitats.
In order to be released, animals must be able to thrive within their natural environment along with other members of their species.
Effective rehabilitation will meet not only unique physical care, but also psychological needs of each animal in our care system.
Animal Sanctuary
Animal Sanctuaries are built to help protect animals and offer them a new life. Animal sanctuaries give new homes to animals that have been abandoned or rescued from dangerous conditions.
Other animals, including livestock and pets, may stay here as their forever home. On some occasions they can be adopted.
A sanctuary is a haven, a place where animals can be protected and happy.
